Jesuit Missions launches resources for Season of Creation 2025

September 4, 2025

Jesuit Missions has launched a new selection of resources to support the Season of Creation 2025, which runs from 1 September to the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on 4 October.

The annual, ecumenical celebration honours and promotes the protection of our planet. This year’s theme is “Peace with Creation”, encouraging participants to pray for a more peaceful and just world throughout the season.

Via the Jesuit Missions website, supporters can access a range of online tools, including:

- A presentation on the Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, which introduces you to the Season of Creation.

- A series of environmental reflections, published every Tuesday, featuring contributions from figures across the Jesuit and wider Christian communities.

- Information on the ‘Fridays for the Future’ initiative, where students advocate for climate action.

- A resource combining the Lord’s Prayer with the theme of justice.

- Details about the ‘Letters to the Earth’ programme, which invites schools, parish groups, and others to call for an end to the exploitation of the natural world.

The resources also highlight Jesuit Missions-supported projects affected by climate change and environmental challenges, including:

- The Sowing Seeds project in South Sudan, which supports farming education in areas dependent on agriculture.

- The Intercultural Bilingual Education programme in Guyana, which enables Indigenous communities to celebrate their land, culture, and heritage through schooling.
