Jesuit prayer app Pray As You Go launches new Lenten retreat: Holy Longing

February 4, 2026

This Lent, Pray As You Go is offering a new audio retreat called Holy Longing, designed to accompany listeners from Ash Wednesday through to Easter Sunday. Each session combines music, scripture, and guided reflection to support prayer and reflection during the Lenten season.

Holy Longing invites participants to pause and reflect amid the busyness of daily life. The retreat encourages listening to what is stirring within us — the questions, the hopes, and the yearnings that often go unnoticed — and using these as moments to connect more intentionally with God.

Emma Hudson, Director of Pray As You Go, said:

“The world is longing for so much at the moment: justice, mercy, love, healing, peace. It is often in our longing that we meet God. This retreat offers an opportunity to take some longer pauses than usual each week and reorientate our hearts towards God. This retreat will be special as our Lead Audio Producer, Matthew Hawken will be composing some bespoke music for Holy Longing, allowing us to experience even more the depth of prayer through music."

The retreat was written for Pray As You Go by Cameron Bellm, a Seattle-based writer and contemplative in action. She combines a love of language with a deeply rooted spirituality, creating prayers, reflections, and devotional material that link everyday life with faith.

Pray As You Go provides short, accessible audio prayers — usually 10–13 minutes — suitable for use at home, commuting, or walking. All content is free and draws on Ignatian spirituality to support prayer in daily life.

The Pray As You Go app is available on both the Apple App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android, so listeners can easily install it on their phones or tablets.
