Jesuit Refugee Service will participate in the London Legal Walk

March 13, 2024

On Tuesday 18th June, the Jesuit Refugee Service UK will be taking part in the London Legal Walk: a 10km walk across main London parks in support of much-needed frontline free legal advice.

Legal departments and chambers will be walking alongside law centres, legal charities and members of the judiciary, raising money to support desperately needed free legal services. Why is Jesuit Refugee Service walking?

Since 2019, the Jesuit Refugee Service UK Legal Project has been delivering free legal advice and representation to refugee friends who are fighting to resolve their immigration status and rebuild their lives in the UK.

Without secure immigration status, the refugees who are being supported face destitution: they are unable to work, access public support, rent accommodation or open a bank account.

To find out more about why free legal advice for refugees is so important, and how you can support the work, please read this blog on the Jesuit Refugee Service UK website here.

The Jesuit Refugee Service UK is a Catholic organisation and shares in a global mission to accompany, serve and advocate for the rights of refugees and other forcibly displaced people.
