
From residential retreats and daily online reflections to parish initiatives and Lent appeals, there are many ways to engage more intentionally with this sacred season. Here’s what’s taking place in the weeks ahead:
St Beuno’s Jesuit Spirituality Centre (St Asaph, North Wales)
Nestled in the hills of North Wales, St Beuno’s has welcomed people into the heart of the Ignatian tradition since 1848, offering a peaceful place for prayer, reflection and renewal. This year, St Beuno’s is hosting several residential retreats during the Lenten period: Many Dwelling Places (16th – 20th February); a midweek Individually Guided Retreat (23rd – 27th February); A Cry of Wonder (2nd – 6th March), and Grace & Gratitude: A Retreat for Women (13th – 15th March).
Ignatian Spirituality Centre (Glasgow)
Situated in the heart of Glasgow, the Ignatian Spirituality Centre has welcomed people into the Ignatian tradition for decades, offering a space for prayer, reflection and spiritual growth. Their Lent Day of Prayer and Reflection takes place on 14 March, 10.30am–4.30pm, at the Centre and online, while throughout the Lenten period they also offer a Discernment Retreat (13-15 March) and the reflective course Life Before Death (21 February).
London Jesuit Centre
Through Lent with St Matthew starts on Friday 13 February 2026, 6–7 pm, inviting participants to pray daily through Lent with readings from the Gospel of St Matthew, suggested prayer practices, music, imagery and weekly group sharing on Zoom, with optional booklet support.
The Lent Retreat in Daily Life 2026 starts on Saturday 21st February, 4–5.30pm, and offers a simple structure of 15 minutes of daily prayer, alongside weekly online meetings with a retreat guide. This flexible format allows participants to integrate Ignatian prayer into everyday life while receiving personal accompaniment. Please note, there are only a few places left for this retreat.
Ignatian Spirituality Centre (Glasgow)
Through Lent with St Matthew starts on Ash Wednesday, 18th February, and is an online daily Lenten retreat inviting participants to pray each day with passages from the Gospel of Matthew. Rooted in the Ignatian tradition, it helps deepen engagement with Scripture at your own pace throughout Lent.
Pray As You Go
Our daily prayer app is offering a free Lenten audio retreat, Holy Longing, running from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. The retreat features guided reflections, music, and Scripture to support daily prayer throughout the season.
Jesuit Institute
St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, recommended the Examen — a simple prayer that helps us reflect on our day and notice God’s presence in our experiences. The Jesuit Institute has created a free Lent Examen available online. Those new to Ignatian spirituality may also wish to explore the Institute’s spirituality tastersduring Lent.
Thinking Faith
The Jesuit online journal publishes a series of articles throughout Lent, offering theological insights and reflections to deepen understanding of the season.
Jesuit Missions
Jesuit Missions is offering Lent resources including a daily calendar (available online and for print) featuring actions and reflections linked to the work of their partners. Jesuit schools have also created a special Lenten Stations of the Cross video, featuring reflections from pupils inspired by the work of Jesuit Missions.
Jesuit Refugee Service UK
The JRS UK Lent Appeal 2026 focuses on women seeking safety, highlighting the experiences of women who are seeking refuge and inviting prayerful solidarity and practical support.
Jesuit Institute
Each year, the Jesuit Institute brings accessible Retreats in Daily Life to over 15 university towns and cities, reaching hundreds of students. The Lent Appeal will help fund these, an you can support it here. Details of the appeal will be included in their e-newsletter on Ash Wednesday.
