Spiritual work with convicted prisoners

Yesterday marked Prisoners' Sunday, the national day of prayer and action for prisoners and their dependents.

The Jesuit Institute, a work of the British province of Jesuits, works with prison chaplains to offer inmates and staff spiritual retreats, guidance and accompaniment. This project is ecumenical, working with other faith traditions, and focuses very much on rehabilitation.

Once prisoners have completed their sentence, they are encouraged and very welcome to participate in online retreats which the Jesuit Institute also offers.
